What's Going On

I find these articles to be factual, enlightening, and above all, infuriating.

Everyone wonders why they work so hard and cannot get ahead.
Well (deep breath a la Jim Carrey), 1/3 of your income goes to the government to squander away on corrupt contracts and wasteful spending,

or to JP Morgan to buy out (bail out) Bear Sterns. Huge companies go belly up and employees and investors lose everything, while the CEO's get huge bonuses.

Manufacturing jobs are rapidly moving overseas because of "free trade" agreements which give huge advantages to countries who are willing to pay their workers 5 dollars per day. The Federal Reserve, a privately held entity, controls the nations money supply, creates money out of thin air, introduces it into the economy through debt (your car loan, school loans, mortgage, etc...), and charges interest on that money which it does not, and has never, actually possessed.

There is more debt in the system than money to pay it. The only way to keep up is through the creation of more debt. The US debt is currently 9.4 trillion dollars or $9,400,000,000,000. That is $30,000 plus for every man woman and child in the US of A. That does not include the mountain of consumer debt.

The War has cost 3 trillion so far with no end in sight. Osama Bin Laden is basically an after thought, while the effects of 911 rage on. These effects include the proposed national ID card equipped with a radio transponder so that you can be tracked where ever in the world that you go. Radio frequency passports are already in the making. The passage of the Patriot Act, which was drafted well in advance of 9/11, the death of Habeus Corpus, and the trampling of the Bill of Rights (illegal wiretapping, no trial for detainees, enemy combatants, warrantless searches, etc...)and the Geneva Conventions.

The Federal Reserve, which is on the verge of getting even more "regulatory power", (did I mention that the Fed is a privately held entity) has been cutting interest rates to stimulate the economy. Every time this happens, more money gets put into the economy through debt (easier access debt since it comes with lower interest rates) and the value of the money that is already in the economy declines. So every time you hear about the Fed lowering interest rates, just think about how they are stealing from you to bail out others who have taken irresponsible risks. At least George Bush is giving you a tax refund in his economic stimulus package. Do not forget that the money refunded back to you is actually your money. The money you earned and paid to the government through income taxes, which are unconstitutional and were never ratified by all of the States. In case you did not know, the IRS has spent 42 million dollars to publicise the tax refund through a mailing campaign.

Why would the United States government, who has the constitutional authority to print money, give this power to the Federal Reserve Bank (privately held). Under the current system, the government has to borrow money from the Fed only to pay it back with interest, when the government could instead print its own money interest free. Many people feel that the government would abuse its power to print money, but that is essentially what it is doing now only with interest. And who pays the interest. You do.
It makes absolutely no sense.

Do you ever wonder why it is that in most households it now takes 2 people working to provide the same type of living that your parents or grandparents did with only one main source of income? Or why most people have to work back breaking hours to get ahead, barely. It is because the purchasing power of the dollar has steadily dropped making your 50k per year circa 2008 equivalent to 25k per year circa 1985.

Have wages doubled in this time to keep up? You may get a raise, but the purchasing power of your money has been steadily declining. This makes you think that you are ahead of the game when you are standing still.

The media is garbage. The TV is lying, manipulating, and hiding important information. Countless articles and reports have been pulled from broadcasts, magazines, and newspapers because the reports have revealed some inconvenient truth about an advertiser. In case we have forgotten, the public airwaves are just that, owned by the public. Broadcast television should be used to serve the public. Instead you have a few multinational corporations buying up the air waves at rock bottom prices and making huge profits through their use while the FCC is trying to further ease media ownership rules.

Instead of a watchdog media, we are stuck with pundits talking about whether or not Barack Obama wears a flag lapel pin ( a guy on a cable news channel actually called out Obama for not wearing a flag lapel pin while he himself was not wearing a pin).

On the bright side, there are a handful of people getting unimaginably rich off of the system that they have created. The system that they control and the people that they manipulate.

Who is it that the government is actually serving?

If you think this is a Republican/Democrat thing you have missed the boat and fell into the trap of thinking that it is the other side, or they, that is to blame.

This is excellent! Unfortunately, not enough people are paying attention to these sensitive matters. I applaud you for bringing these "hidden truths" to light.
